In1936,JakubVildawasachampionshipprofessionalboxerfromCzechoslovakia.HewasinMunich,battlinghisGermanrivalKurtSchaller,whenhismanagercalledoffthematch.Puzzledandangry,hereturnedtoPraguetotrainforanothermatchandtofindanewmanager.WhenhelearnsthattheNaziswerepressuringhismanagertogethimtolose,hebecomesevenmoreupset.Meanwhile,hisoldgirlfriendhaslefthimforsomeoneelse,andhetakesupwithaGermanwomanwhoisapopularactressinCzechfilms.Atthetimeoftherematch,hewinswithgreatdifficulty,buthewins.Unfortunately,hisnewgirlfriendwasunderordersfromtheGermangovernmenttocausehimtolose,andtheresultsforherarefatal.Thisdramaisdirectlybasedonactualevents.
